Tariffs Are Hitting Ammo – What You Need to Know

Understanding the Differences Between .223 and 5.56 Ammo: A Technical Comparison Reading Tariffs Are Hitting Ammo – What You Need to Know 3 minutes

Hey Unlimited Ammo Family,

We want to keep you ahead of the curve on something that’s going to potentially affect shooters across the country: new import tariffs are increasing ammo prices — and this shift is only beginning.

This memo is not to scare you, we want to INFORM you and keep you guys ahead of the curve.

Here’s what’s changing, why it matters, and how buying smart now can protect you later.

What's Changing?

The U.S. government has rolled out new tariffs that add a 10% base import tax on goods from nearly 90 countries — with additional increases for many of the biggest ammo-producing nations:

  • China – 34%

  • European Union – 20%

  • Taiwan – 32%

  • South Korea – 25%

  • And more…

These changes directly affect importers, and as those costs rise, so will retail ammo prices — across the board.

Brands & Countries Affected

Many of the most popular foreign ammo brands are on the list, including:

  • PPU, PMC, Norma, Sellier & Bellot, Armscor, Fiocchi, and others

Countries like Serbia, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, South Korea, and many more are subject to these tariff hikes.

Brands like Aguila, made in Mexico, are currently exempt from these new tariffs under the USMCA agreement — which helps, but can’t offset the global pricing pressure on its own.

U.S. Made Ammo = Increased Demand

We’re proud to Manufacture Our Own Ammo — As more people shift away from higher-priced imports, demand for U.S. brands will increase & Our goal is to keep prices as low as possible and inventory in stock!
